Unfollows are the changes Instagram hides best. There is no list of removed accounts, no notification and no history, so the only way to know is to compare the following list before and after. The Ick keeps a snapshot of every profile you track and compares it every hour, so an unfollow shows up in your feed with the exact account and the time it was detected.

Unfollows in both directions

Most unfollower apps only work on your own account and require your Instagram login. The Ick works on any public profile, without a login, and tracks both directions: accounts the profile unfollowed, and accounts that unfollowed the profile. You also see the new follows that happened alongside them, which is often the more interesting half of the story.

Why you should not install an unfollowers app that asks for your password

Apps that ask you to sign in with Instagram act on your account and regularly trigger Instagram's automation checks, which can lead to action blocks or a locked account. Because The Ick only reads public data, there is nothing to sign into and nothing on your account that can be flagged.

What an unfollow can and cannot tell you

An unfollow means the account was in the list at one check and gone at the next. It does not tell you why. Accounts that were blocked, deactivated or deleted also disappear from the list, so The Ick shows you the account and lets you draw your own conclusion.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter a public username

Search any public Instagram profile in the box above to see its current following and follower picture.

  2. 2

    Subscribe to keep watching

Tracking runs in the background for up to 5 profiles. Nothing to install on the web, or use the Android app.

  3. 3

    Read the change feed

Every detected unfollow and new follow appears in your feed with a timestamp, and you receive a push notification the moment it is found.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see who someone unfollowed on Instagram?
Not from Instagram itself. Instagram never shows removed accounts. A tracker like The Ick records the following list every hour and reports the accounts that disappeared between two checks.
Can I see who unfollowed me?
Yes, if your own account is public. Add your own username as a tracked profile and The Ick reports lost followers alongside new ones, without ever asking for your password.
Will it work if the account is private?
No. Private accounts do not expose their lists, so unfollows cannot be detected. The Ick warns you when a profile is private.
How long is the history kept?
Changes are stored for as long as your subscription is active, so you can scroll back through the timeline of follows and unfollows for each tracked profile.
Can the person see that I track them?
No. There is no interaction with the profile, so nothing is visible on their side.
